Yale Bookstore now open in temporary quarters

The Yale Bookstore is now open for business in temporary space on Broadway. Members of the Yale and New Haven communities can purchase textbooks, school supplies and insignia apparel at the bookstore's operation in the space formerly known as the Annex, which can be entered through the Morse/Stiles courtyard or directly from Broadway. Dorm supplies, additional insignia items and other academic supplies are available nearby, at 27 Broadway. The Yale Bookstore is offering a number of discounts to the Yale community, including a 5 percent discount to students on all new, hardcover textbooks.

The Yale Bookstore is operated by Barnes & Noble College Bookstores, which is currently renovating 77 Broadway, the space that will be the operation's permanent home. Scheduled to open in late fall, The Yale Bookstore will feature a trade book section with over 150,000 titles, an extensive section of academic journals and periodicals, and a university press department featuring faculty authors and titles from the Yale University Press. The store also plans to provide, among other things, a bookstore café, a Tommy Hilfiger clothing shop, a museum shop and a marketplace with fresh fruit and other food items.

Store hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and noon-6 p.m. Sunday. For questions on books and other merchandise, call 777-0477. The Yale Bookstore is in the process of hiring staff for its permanent facility; for employment information, call 777-8440.
