Mayor to hold open forum at McDougal Center

Members of the Yale community can talk face-to-face with New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr. and city staff about the problems that most concern them at the next Mayor's Night Out, which will be held 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, at the McDougal Graduate Student Center, located in the Hall of Graduate Studies, 320 York St.

The evening will open with a presentation by Mayor DeStefano. Julio Gonzalez, the Yale College junior who serves as alderman for District 1, will join the mayor at the forum, as will Development Office adminstrator A. Walter Esdaile and Human Resources Office administrator Alma Ayala. In addition, members of the Yale community can talk to representatives from the Departments of Health, Public Works, Police Services, Fire Services, Parks, Recreation and Trees, and Traffic and Parking, as well as the Livable City Initiative and the Office of Building Inspection and Enforcement.

Held every month in a different neighborhood, Mayor's Night Out complements Mayor's Night In, which is held the first Tuesday of every month 5-7 p.m. in City Hall.

For further information, call Michael Morand in Yale's Office of New Haven Affairs, 432-4082.
