'Treasure hunt' at the Yale Art Gallery

Families, such as the one pictured above, visiting the Yale University Art Gallery during the next several weeks are invited to participate in the "Discover American Art Treasure Hunt" as a way to learn more about art. The "hunt," which focuses on the current exhibition "American Art at Yale: 25 Years of Collecting at the Yale Art Gallery," uses colorful card packs with rhyming riddles and puzzle pieces to help gallery visitors discover and obtain information about paintings, drawings and pieces of sculpture or furniture. The card pack is free at the door and throughout the museum. Hunt participants ages 4-14 may enter a raffle for prizes from the museum shop. Raffle winners will be drawn Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 15. For more information, call Ellen Alvord at 432-0621.
