City students discover the 'Geography' of dancing

In conjunction with the upcoming production of the world premiere of "Geography" presented by the Yale Repertory Theatre, renowned choreographer Ralph Lemon (right) led a master dance class on Oct. 7 for 50 students at New Haven's Cooperative Arts and Humanities Magnet High School (above). Eight dancers, actors and percussionists from the show also participated in the class, which was cosponsored by AT&T.

Conceived and directed by Mr. Lemon, "Geography" explores and celebrates the commonality of African and African-American racial and cultural identity. It will make its world premiere Oct. 23-Nov. 8, at the University Theatre, 222 York St. For ticket information, call the Yale Rep box office, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, at 432-1234.
