Visitor Information Center
The Visitor Information Center, located at 149 Elm St., answers inquiries about Yale and provides University maps, books, postcards and a schedule of guided tours. It is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:45 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tours of central campus leave from the center Monday-Friday at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Tours are free and last approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
"New Haven First," free one-hour walking tours around the New Haven Green led by community volunteers, leave from the center on Thursdays at noon from April through October. For further information on tours, call 432-2300.
The visitors' center is also responsible for processing telephone queries from around the globe. The office does not provide Yale telephone information; to obtain University telephone numbers, call 432-4771.
Yale Bulletin & Calendar
The Yale Bulletin & Calendar (YB&C) is published weekly
during the academic year (except during recess periods) by the Office of
Public Affairs. It contains news of Yale people and programs, as well as a
daily listing of campus activities. Announcements and calendar entries for
the YB&C are due by noon on Friday, 10 days before the issue
date. Classified ads are due by noon on Thursday, 11 days before
the issue date. For information about how to submit copy, call the Office
of Public Affairs at 432-1333.
Calendar entry forms, classified ad forms and a schedule of
production dates and deadlines are available at the office or on the
YB&C's World Wide Web home page. The YB&C can be mailed to homes
or offices for a subscription fee of $27 per year, prorated quarterly. For
subscriptions, call 432-1333 or stop by the Office of Public Affairs at
433 Temple St.

Student Publications
There is a wide variety of student-run publications on campus. Among
these are the Yale Daily News, the nation's "oldest college daily," and
the Yale Herald, a weekly newspaper. These and other publications are
distributed throughout the University and are another source of
information on day-to-day events at Yale. To reach the Yale Daily News,
