School of Architectures hosts
'New Blood/101' exhibit

The School of Architecture will begin its fall exhibitions program with "New Blood/101," a show highlighting the emerging talent in Los Angeles which cuts across the creative professions of architecture, interiors, landscapes, fashion, interactive d esign, graphics and product design.

The artists featured in "New Blood/101" are "new" in the sense that they have received little attention in the media or have been overlooked in favor of the more famous "names" for whom they work.

"New Blood/101" was originally conceived by West Coast architect Bernard Zimmerman and organized by a committee called the Powers of 10. The show opened to enthusiastic reviews at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles in conjunction with WestWee k98 in April. The exhibit at Yale marks the East Coast debut of "New Blood/101." This newest version of the exhibit is organized by Los Angeles architect Nick Seierup of the Powers of 10.

An opening reception for "New Blood/101" will be held 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the A&A Gallery, located on the second floor of the Art & Architecture Building, 180 York St. During the reception, which is free and open to the publi c, Zimmerman, Seierup and their colleague Joe Addo will give brief presentations regarding the exhibit. The show will run through Oct. 9.

The A&A Gallery is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Admission is free.
