Located in the heart of New Haven, the Yale campus attracts over 550,000 visitors every year and is the site of five of the nine National Historic Landmarks located in the City.
In addition to offering tours of the campus, the Yale Visitor Center is the starting point for free weekly walking tours celebrating the Elm City's history and legacy. Called "New Haven Firsts" tours, the excursions are led by community volunteers and feature information about the innovative programs and inventions connected to the Elm City.
This year, Yale also joined with the Town Green Special Services District and the City to establish and staff a downtown information center on University-owned property at the corner of College and Chapel streets. There, visitors can learn about New Haven's many attractions, and make dining and room reservations.
