In addition to preparing for the arrival of more than 500 new international students during the summer months, the staff of the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) organized bus trips and other outings for members of the international community.

The summer started with a picnic on the New Haven Green during the Ladysmith Black Mambazo concert and ended with a picnic outing to see "Richard III" at Edgerton Park. Other highlights included day trips to Newport, Boston and -- the annual favorite -- the Thimble Islands in Connecticut.
