University committed to building environmentally sound policies and practices on campus
In addition to the environmental benefits derived from its actions, Yale seeks to serve as a leading example of how a large research university can pursue its mission while reducing its environmental impact. Yale’s leaders hope that institutions of higher education and other large organizations will choose to share the University’s commitment or enhance their own efforts. In turn, members of the Yale community are eager to learn from their peers and others about new ways to move more rapidly and effectively toward sustainability. Through its programs, Yale is also seeking to inspire its students, who will go on to be leaders in all walks of life, to apply what they have learned about the environment inside and outside of the classroom to their communities and careers, and to help ensure that their world can sustain them. |
