Corporation as successor trustees
Two alumni -- Holcombe T. Green Jr. and Barrington D. Parker Jr. -- have been named as Successor Trustees to the Yale Corporation, the University's governing board. Their appointments will be effective July 1.

Paul Mellon, 1907-1999
Renowned philanthropist Paul Mellon, the alumnus whose contributions to the University include the creation of the Yale Center for British Art and the construction of two residential colleges, died on Feb. 1 at his home in Upperville, Virginia. He was 91 years old. READ STORY

Students to learn difficulties of
diplomacy at model Middle East
Peace Conference
As diplomats know, bringing about peace between deeply divided factions can be a long and difficult process, fraught with many intricate and hard-to-surmount barriers. Nearly 200 undergraduates from universities throughout the country will learn this lesson first-hand -- while getting advice from real-world ambassadors who have served on the front lines of this struggle -- at the Yale Accord, a Model Middle East Peace Conference being held on campus Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 11-14.
