The Church of Christ in Yale University holds its summer University Public Worship services in Battell Chapel, corner of College and Elm streets, at 10 a.m. on Sundays, June 13 through Aug. 29 (11 a.m. services will resume on Sept. 5). The wheelchair accessible church is an open and affirming congregation of the United Church of Christ. A church school of children and a crib room for infants and toddlers are available. The pharmacy at Yale University Health Services (YUHS) will undergo major renovations beginning June 1. Normal hours -- 7:30 a.m.-6:30 pm., Monday-Friday and 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Saturday -- will be maintained during construction. The pharmacy will relocate to room 405 from early June through late August during the renovations. The prescription drop-off box will remain in the first floor lobby and the prescription refill phone number, 432-0033, will continue to be available during this period. The Yale basketball camp for boys and girls aged 7-17 will be held Monday-Thursday, June 28-July 1 at Payne Whitney Gym. The camp, which emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, fundamentals and fun, will be directed by coaches Greg Herenda and Steve Graham.
Regular sessions will be held 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and extended sessions will be held 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. For more information or to register, call 432-1475.
The Yale Center for British Art is seeking information volunteers from the Yale and New Haven communities to greet museum visitors, answer telephone inquiries, and provide the public with general information about the museum and its programs. Volunteers will be stationed at the information desk in the entrance court.
Candidates should enjoy working with the public and be willing to donate three consecutive hours per week. No previous museum experience is necessary and a brief training session will be provided. For more information, call Senja Foster at 432-2853.
The Yale Corinthian Yacht Club will have open houses on consecutive Saturdays, May 22 and 29. The events, which will run
10 a.m.-7 p.m, are free and open to the public. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the facilities and go on a sailing trip. Summer memberships and lessons will also be available. For more information, call 488-9330.
