Guide shows motorists
where to park downtown

A guide designed to bring together the 15,000 parking spaces in downtown New Haven with the motorists who need them is now available from the Town Green Special Services District.

Among the sites listed in the guide is Yale Lot 51, located near the Green between Temple and College streets. The Yale parking lot is open to the public free of charge 4 p.m.-7 a.m. weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday.

The guide also includes an easy-to-use map listing the locations of 10 garages run by the New Haven Parking Authority and 22 lots run by private enterprises, as well as the lots' capacity, hours of operation and pricing information.

There is also an offer for a free sample voucher for on-street parking, which is good for any Saturday. Parking vouchers save motorists 20 percent on meter prices.

The "Parking Guide to Downtown New Haven" is available from the Town Green Special Services District, 129 Church St., Suite 709, (203) 401-4245, and at all New Haven Parking Authority facilities.
