Edmund Gordon is honored for his achievements
Edmund W. Gordon, Professor Emeritus of Psychology, received the Award for Distinguished Contributions to Educational Research on April 26 at the American Educational Research Association's annual meeting in New Orleans. Gordon, who is also chair of the College Board's National Task Force on Minority High Achievement, has devoted his career of more than 50 years to improving educational opportunity, particularly for ethnic and cultural minorities. Early in his career, he pioneered the street youth worker model in Harlem in response to gang wars, and in 1965 served as founding director of research and evaluation for Project Head Start.
