Nominees sought for Whitney
Humanities Center director

President Richard C. Levin announced that Peter Brooks, director of the Whitney Humanities Center, has indicated he does not want to be considered for reappointment to that post when his term expires on June 30.

In a letter to the Whitney Humanities Center community, Levin wrote: "Peter has led the center with exceptional distinction, both as founding director in the 1980s and during his current term. I am immensely grateful for his inspired leadership and devoted service."

Levin invites interested members of the Yale community to write to him with their views about the current condition and future direction of the Whitney Humanities Center, as well as their nominations of individuals who they believe are best-suited to lead the center.

The letters, marked "Confidential," should be sent to the President at Woodbridge Hall, 105 Wall St.
