Freshman Paul Vitelli (Morristown, NJ) equaled his career-high with 13 points against Princeton. He made 4 of 9 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 three-pointers.


Women's Basketball (5-14, 0-6 Ivy)

Feb. 3 -- Princeton 61, Yale 60 ot

Feb. 10 at Columbia, 5 p.m.

Senior Sara Perkins (Glen Gardner, NJ) scored a career-high 13 points and tied her career high with seven rebounds against Pennsylvania. Junior Caitlin Bair (Highland, MD) added a career-high 14 points.

Junior Meg Simpson (Marietta, GA) scored a career-high 18 points and added nine rebounds against Princeton.


Men's Fencing (3-4, 0-1 Ivy)

Last Week: Feb. 3 -- Pennsylvania 17, Yale 10

This Week: Feb. 10 at Columbia

Yale won the foil 5-4 against Pennsylvania. Freshman Peter Cellini (Chevy Chase, MD) won all three of his bouts. The Bulldogs lost the sabre 5-4 but freshman Byron Igoe (New York, NY) went 3-0.


Women's Fencing (7-1, 2-0 Ivy)

Last Week: Feb. 3 -- Yale 14, Pennsylvania 13

This Week: Feb. 10 at Columbia

Senior Dana Weiss (North Haven, CT) won the decisive bout against Penn. Yale won the sabre 7-2 and the foil 6-3. Freshman Sada Jacobson (Atlanta, GA) was 3-0 in the sabre and freshman Zane Selkirk (New York, NY) was 3-0 in the foil.


Gymnastics (2-1, 1-0 Ivy)

Last Week: Feb. 4 -- 4th at Rhode Island Invitational (192.3)

This Week: Feb. 11 at Springfield, Brockport, Rhode Island College.

Yale's score of 192.3 was a new school and Ivy League record.

Sophomore Shoshanna Engel (Louisville, KY) had Yale's top all-around score at the Rhode Island Invitational with a 38.75. She scored 9.625 on vault, 9.65 on the bars, 9.7 on beam and 9.775 in the floor exercise.


Men's Ice Hockey (10-11-0, 6-8-0 ECAC)

Feb. 4 -- St. Lawrence 1, Yale 0 ot

Junior Dan Lombard (Andover, MA) made 38 saves against St. Lawrence and 29 saves against Clarkson.

Senior Lisa Meyers (Skokie, IL) scored four goals and added one assist in the win over Boston College. Freshman Nicolette Franck (Burlington, ONT) made 22 saves in goal.


Men's Squash (12-2, 3-1 Ivy)

Senior Josh Barenbaum (Philadelphia, PA), junior Peter Grote (St. Louis, MO) and freshmen Ryan Byrnes (West Hartford, CT) and Albert McCrery (Wilmington, DE) each won their matches against Brown and Princeton.


Women's Squash (6-4, 1-3 Ivy)

Junior Colleen Terry (Seattle, WA) was Yale's lone winner against Princeton. She also won her match against Brown.

This Week: Feb. 10 at Columbia/ Brown

Yale set a pair of school records in the meet against Harvard and Princeton. Senior George Gleason (St. Croix, VI) set a Yale record in the 400 IM with a time of 3:50.11 and sophomore Greg Palumbo (Randolph, NJ) set a school mark in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:24.81.


Women's Swimming (10-1, 5-1 Ivy)

This Week: Feb. 9 vs. Brown, 4 p.m., Kiphuth Pool

Senior Meredith Bryarly (Conroe, TX) was a double winner in the meet with Harvard and Princeton. She captured the 50 freestyle in 23.46 and won the 100 freestyle in 51.07. Sophomore Susan Cooke (Vero Beach, FL) was Yale's only other individual winner. She captured the 400 IM with a time of 4:24.89.

Winners for Yale in the meet against Army and Cornell were senior Jason Rife (Lincoln, NE) in the 400 dash (49.70), junior Don Carson (Pittsburgh, PA) in the 500 run (1:04.11) and sophomore Anthony Thomas (Bethel, CT) in the long jump (22' 9").

Winners for Yale in the meet with Army and Cornell were junior Jessica Thomas (Charlotte, NC) in the 500 run (1:16.5), senior Emily Estey (Wellfleet, MA) in the 800 run (2:12.18), senior Katie Rigney (Carmel, CA) in the 1,000 run (2:55.64), sophomore Kate O'Neill (Milton, MA) in the 3,000 run (9:49.49), senior Jennifer Newsom (Golden Valley, MN) in the long jump (18' 11.75") and senior Melanie Harris (New Rochelle, NY) in the 20-pound weight throw (56' 8.5").
