Junior Jon Steitz (Branford, CT) struck out 13 and did not allow an earned run in 10 innings in the second game against Columbia. For the season, Steitz has 60 strikeouts in 41.0 innings.

Junior Chris Eckerle (Indianapolis, IN) finished second at the Yale Spring Opener with a two-round score of 145. Junior Nate Mickelson (Kemmerer, WY) placed third with a 146.

Junior Sarah Seo (Lima, OH) was Yale's medalist at the James Madison Invitational. She tied for sixth with a 152.

Freshman Jamie Green (Los Angeles, CA) finished 19th with a 9.725 in the floor exercise at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships. She also was 30th in the bars (9.625), 33rd in the beam (9.250) and 39th in the vault (9.4). Sophomore Jennifer Gold (Stamford, CT) placed 24th in the floor exercise (9.65), 25th in the bars (9.675), 36th in the beam (9.125) and 41st in the vault (9.4). Sophomore Andrea Wolf (Seattle, WA) was 27th in vault (9.6), 31st in the bars (9.525), 36th in the floor exercise (9.4) and 41st in the beam (8.550).


Men's Lacrosse (3-5, 1-3 Ivy)

Junior Brian Hunt (Mashpee, MA) had three goals and three assists against Brown and two goals and two assists against Duke.

Freshman Miles Whitman (Baltimore, MD) scored four goals in the rout of Holy Cross. She leads the team in scoring with 25 goals and two assists.

Freshman Jillian Miles (Canyon, CA) threw her first career shutout in the second game against Columbia. She allowed only two hits and struck out two.

Junior Cara Denver (Vancouver, WA) pitched a one-hitter in the 3-0 victory over Columbia. The Lions' only hit was a dribbler in front of the plate in the first inning. Denver retired the last 18 batters she faced.


Men's Tennis (14-2, 1-1 Ivy)

Sophomore Steve Berke (North Miami, FL) was a straight sets winner in the No. 1 singles position against both Penn and Princeton.

Yale had two second-place finishes at the Colonial Relays. Sophomore J.C. Reindl (Bryan, OH) placed second in the 10,000-meter run (31:56.40) and sophomore Anthony Thomas (Bethel, CT) was second in the long jump (7.07 meters).
