Administrative Professionals' Day
to be celebrated April 25 and 26

Yale will commemorate its first Administrative Professionals' Day with a two-day campus-wide celebration on Wednesday and Thursday, April 25 and 26.

Formerly known as Secretaries' Day, Administrative Professionals' Day has grown to become one of the largest workplace observances worldwide.

"Yale's main goals in celebrating Administrative Professionals' Day are to promote lifelong learning, provide professional development activities and thank Yale's administrative professionals who are so critical to Yale's ongoing success," says Christine Adams, a coordinator at the Organizational Development & Learning Center.

The celebration will include a variety of hour-long training workshops and other events designed to be both fun and informative. Administrative assistants, office coordinators, secretaries, receptionists and other office support staff members from all parts of campus are invited to attend as few or as many of the workshops as desired with supervisor approval.

Workshop topics will include "Coping With Stress," "Improving Your Communication With People Around You," "Stretching: Successful 20-Minute Techniques," "Using Microsoft's Mail Merge Feature: An Integrated Approach," "The Seven Deadly Errors to Avoid While at Work," "Nutrition: Eating Healthy and Enjoying Every Bite of It" and "Wow! Did You Make That? Powerpoint Signs." There will also be a comedy show performance highlighting the work lives of Yale's support staff by The LaughingStock Comedy Company.

For more information about the Administrative Professionals' Day celebration or to register for workshops, visit www.yale.edu/learningcenter. Additional questions may be directed to Christine Adams at (203) 432-5660 or christine.adams@yale.edu.
