Renowned sculptor is featured
in DMCA talk about his design
for Raoul Wallenberg memorial

World-renowned sculptor Isaac Witkin will present "Speaking Volumes -- The Wallenberg Gate Project" on Wednesday, May 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Digital Media Center for the Arts (DMCA), 149 York St.

Witkin will be joined by DMCA media specialist Steven W. Marcus in demonstrating a new collaborative process which allows traditional and digital artists to create realistic and malleable forms in the computer. The process eventually produces a prototype which can be used to enlarge and cast a final sculpture.

"Speaking Volumes" will showcase Wit-kin's design for a proposed memorial sculpture for Raoul Wallenberg, the heroic Swedish diplomat whose efforts saved the lives of over 100,000 Hungarian Jews in the final years of the Holocaust.

The presentation is open to the public and will be followed by a reception. For more information, contact the DMCA at (203) 432-8188.
