Grant to fund F&ES scholarships

The Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies (F&ES) has received a $200,000 grant for student scholarships from the Evan Frankel Foundation.

The grant will provide $10,000 per year for tuition expenses to 10 students enrolled in any of the school's four two-year master's degree programs -- environmental management, environmental science, forestry and forestry science. In addition, the school has committed to obtaining matching funds, ensuring each Frankel Scholar at least $20,000 in support.

"Financial aid is one of the highest priorities of the school, particularly as we strive to increase the availability of a Yale education to students from the developing world," says F&ES Dean James Gustave Speth. "The Evan Frankel Scholarship Fund will allow us to move immediately to educate a new, more diverse generation of environmental professionals."
