Eight Yale affiliates were awarded scholarships from the Yale University Women's Organization (YUWO) this year.
They include: Linda V. Jackson, program coordinator, Office of Multicultural Affairs, School of Medicine; Shaun King, senior administrative assistant, Organizational Development and Learning Center; Judith Kohan, a student at the School of Nursing; Roselyn Llanos-Robles, office assistant, Law School; Julia Stenstrom Norcross, senior administrative assistant, University Library; Sheilah G. Robinson, library services assistant, University Library; Sarah J. Saiano, research assistant, Department of Psychiatry; and Angela D. Thigpen, administrative assistant, Yale Cancer Center.
The scholarships are given to women whose formal educations have been interrupted or delayed and who wish to resume their studies or enhance or change careers. The awards were presented at YUWO's annual meeting on May 2 at the New Haven Country Club. The event featured an address by Bruce Alexander, vice president and director of the Office of New Haven and State Affairs.
