Yale aids holiday fundraiser
for the Ronald McDonald House

In the spirit of giving, Yale will offer complimentary parking in one of its lots in support of a holiday fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House, a "home away from home" for the families of ill children using the services of local health facilities.

On the weekends of Nov. 23-25 and Nov. 30-Dec. 2, Lot #51, on Temple Street across from the New Haven Public Library, will be open for free to those visiting a holiday boutique at New Haven City Hall.

The fair will be open Friday-Sunday both weekends from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. In addition, City Hall will be adorned with dozens of decorated trees and other holiday-season embellishments beginning on Monday, Nov. 19, and ending on Sunday, Dec. 2. At the end of the event, the trees and decorations will be raffled, with proceeds benefitting the Ronald McDonald House.

A shuttle bus will take visitors from Lot #51 to City Hall both weekends. A horse-drawn carriage will be available on Sunday, Dec. 1, noon-4 p.m. On Sunday, Dec. 2, Santa Claus and Ronald McDonald will be on hand noon-3 p.m. at City Hall to entertain children.

Those who attend the City Hall events will also have the opportunity to sponsor a light in memory of a friend or loved one on the outdoor tree at Ronald McDonald House. Each five-dollar donation to the house will illuminate one light on the tree that will shine throughout the holiday season.

For further information or to make a donation, call the Ronald McDonald House at (203) 777-5683 or visit its website at www.ronaldmcdonaldhouse-ct.org.
