Funny things will happen during
a Roman-style comedy week

A screening of the film "A Funny Thing ,Happened on the Way to the Forum" will open a week of classic comedy, Roman style, sponsored by the Department of Classics and the Yale University Art Gallery.

The event is the second collaboration between students and faculty in the classics department and the Yale Art Gallery; it is also sponsored by the Jonathan Edwards College (JE) Sudler Fund.

In addition to the film, which is based on the comedies of the ancient Roman playwright Plautus (ca. 254-184 B.C.), the week will include lectures by a visiting professor and the performance of Plautus' play "Pseudolus" as well as a Roman-style reception in the gallery's Sculpture Hall.

The series is the brainchild of Rachel Kamins '02 of JE, who translated and directed this presentation of "Pseudolus."

Admission to "Pseudolus" is $2; seating is limited, and advance reservations can be made by sending e-mail to jaime.moo-young@yale.edu or calling (203) 436-0730. All other events are free and open to the public.
