honored by industry magazine

Restaurant and Institutions magazine announced that lYale University Dining Services is a nominee for its 2002 Ivy Award. Established by R&I in 1971, the Ivy Award is an honor in recognition of high standards of excellence and achievement in the food service industry.

The 250 prior recipients, the Ivy Society, nominate candidates for current year awards. The 60 restaurants and institutions that receive the most nominations become eligible for final consideration. Yale is among this group. The entire readership of R&I, a total of 164,000 food service professionals, will vote using ballots appearing in the Jan. 15 issue of the magazine.

The six winners will be announced and featured in the May 15 issue of the magazine. Recipients will be recognized at an award ceremony at the National Restaurant Association Show held in May in Chicago.

David P. Davidson, director of Yale Dining Services said, "I'm thrilled that our Dining Services Team has been recognized by our industry."

Recent past awardees include the Four Seasons Hotel and Harvard University Dining Services in Boston, Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Tribeca Grill in New York City.
