Susan Cooke won the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley against Brown University on Feb. 9. The women's swim team will compete in the Ivy League Champion-ships Feb. 21-23.






Men's Basketball (15-7, 7-1 Ivy)

Last Week: Feb. 8 -- Yale 83, Pennsylvania 78; Feb. 9 -- Yale 60, Princeton 50

This Week: Feb. 15 at Cornell, 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 16 at Columbia, 7:30 p.m.

Yale swept the Penn and Princeton weekend for the first time since the 1987-88 season.

With 15 victories, Yale is assured of its first overall winning record since the 1991-1992 team went 17-9. At 7-1 the Bulldogs are off to their best Ivy start since the 1961-1962 Ivy League championship team, which went on to finish 13-1.

Junior Ime Archibong (Greensboro, NC) scored a team-high 17 points and added six rebounds against Pennsylvania and had 12 points, four rebounds and four assists against Princeton.


Women's Basketball (11-10, 4-4 Ivy)

Yale set a school record with 13 three-pointers vs. Princeton.

Sophomore Bonnie Smith (Oakland, ME) scored a career-high 16 points against Princeton. She also had nine rebounds.


Men's Fencing (5-6, 2-1 Ivy)

This Week: Feb. 16 at Junior Olympics

Women's Fencing (10-2, 4-0 Ivy)

Gymnastics (2-2, 1-0 Ivy)

Last Week: Feb. 9 -- 4th at Rhode Island Invitational (189.650)

This Week: Feb. 10 at Rhode Island Invitational, noon

Freshman Kathryn Fong (Brooklyn, NY) tied for third in the all-around at the Rhode Island Invitational with a score of 37.975.


Men's Ice Hockey (6-15-2, 5-9-2 ECAC)

Last Week: Feb. 8 -- Colgate 3, Yale 2; Feb. 9 -- Cornell 3, Yale 2

This Week: Feb. 15 vs. Union, 7 p.m., Ingalls Rink; Feb. 16 vs. RPI, 7 p.m., Ingalls Rink

Sophomore Mike Klema (Roseau, MN) had three goals in the two games.


Women's Ice Hockey (6-14-3, 2-9-1 ECAC)

This Week: Feb. 14 vs. Sacred Heart, - 7 p.m., Ingalls Rink; Feb. 16 at Quinnipiac, 5 p.m.

Junior Deanna McDevitt (South Boston, MA) scored three goals against Colgate. She leads the team in scoring with 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists).


Men's Squash (15-2, 3-1 Ivy)

This Week: Feb. 16 vs. Amherst, 6 p.m.


Women's Squash (8-1, 5-0 Ivy)

Last Week: Feb. 6 -- Yale 9, Amherst 0; Feb. 9 -- Yale 9, Brown 0

This Week: Feb. 15-17 -- Howe Cup, Brady Squash Center


Men's Swimming (14-1, 6-1 Ivy)

The Bulldogs had seven individual winners in the victories over Brown and Columbia.


Wmen's Swimming (12-1, 6-1 Ivy)

Junior Susan Cooke (Vero Beach, FL) was a triple winner against Brown. She won the 100 (1:05.62) and 200 (2:21.15) breaststroke and the 200 individual medley (2:05.32).

Yale had three winners in the meet against Harvard. Senior Adam Petrillo (Indian Lake, PA) won the pole vault (4.5 meters), junior Anthony Thomas (Bethel, CT) captured the long jump (7.04 meters) and junior Allen Czerwinski (Thompson Fall, MT) won the weight throw (15.91 meters).


Women's Indoor Track (0-2, 0-2 Ivy)

Last Week: Feb. 9 -- Harvard 61, Princeton 58, Yale 40

This Week: Feb. 23-24 at Heptagonal Championships

In the HYP meet, junior Kate O'Neill (Milton, MA) won the mile run in 4:53.29 and junior Laura O'Neill (Milton, MA) captured the 3000 run in 9:51.43.
