There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, March 6, for Dr. Robert W. Berliner, professor emeritus of cellular and molecular physiology and f dean of the School of Medicine from 1973 until 1984.
The memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Battell Chapel, corner of Elm and College streets. A reception will follow.
Dr. Berliner, who died on Feb. 5 at age 86, was a pioneer in the study of kidney function and a major influence in shaping American biomedical science. A 1936 graduate of Yale College, he held key positions at the National Institutes of Health before becoming the medical school dean.
