Benjamin Clark Jr., former manager in Yale's Dining Halls, dies in Texas
Benjamin F. Clark Jr., a former manager of catering and special functions within the Yale Dining Halls, died of cancer at his home in South Texas on Feb. 19 at age 66.
A former resident of Killingworth, Connecticut, Mr. Clark held a variety of administrative posts at the University during his 20 years of service. Before coming to Yale, he worked with Hilton Hotels throughout the country, and after leaving the University, he owned and operated Mockingbird Farm in South Texas, a citrus farm providing grapefruit and other fruits.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Mr. Clark attended schools there and in Grand Island, New York, before graduating from New Haven's Hillhouse High School. He served in the Navy and the Marines as a medical technician.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joy Clark; his son, Jeremy Clark of Westford, Massachusetts; his daughters, Jennifer Herman of Great Neck, New York, and Priscilla Dobson of Stamford, Connecticut; his stepmother, Roberta Clark of Hamden, Connecticut; and his aunt, Julia Wise of Birmingham, Alabama.
