Psychologist Meredith Pullin Crawford Sr., who worked for a brief time at Yale, died on May 21 at age 91.
Mr. Crawford is best known for his psychological research for the Army Aviation Psychology Program during World War II, which focused on training soldiers. He was also the founding director of the Army's Human Resources Research Office at George Washington University and earned the .Decoration for Distinguished Civilian Service for his work there.
Mr. Crawford's time at Yale came early during his career, when he spent five years doing research in Yale's Laboratories of Primate Biology in the 1930s. He went on to teach at Columbia and Vanderbilt universities, serving as dean of students at the latter. He also served as administrative accreditation officer at the American Psychological Association Central Office.
