Men's Cross Country (0-1, 0-1 Ivy)

Senior Alexis Surovov (Shelton, CT) was Yale's top finisher at the New Englands. He placed 11th with a time of 25:03.


Women's Cross Country (2-0, 2-0 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 13 -- 9th at National Pre-Meet (306)

Next: Oct. 26 at Heptagonal Championships

Junior Kate O'Neill (Milton, MA) finished 12th with a time of 21:11 at the National Pre-Meet at Furman. Junior Laura O'Neill (Milton, MA) was 24th with a time of 21:39.


Field Hockey (6-6, 0-3 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 10 -- Yale 4, Quinnipiac 0; Oct. 13 -- Boston College 3, Yale 2 (ot); Oct. 14 -- Yale 4, Bucknell 1

This Week: Oct. 20 at Pennsylvania, 6 p.m.

Sophomore Jana Halfon (Richmond, VA), who scored both Yale goals against Boston College and also tallied twice against Quinnipiac, leads the team in scoring with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists).

Sophomore Suzanne Anthony (Oklahoma City, OK) notched her second game-winning goal of the season in the victory over Bucknell.


Football (3-1, 1-1 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 13 -- Yale 36, Fordham 27

This Week: Oct. 20 at Pennsylvania, noon

Junior Jay Schulze (Gaithersburg, MD) was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Game. He rushed for a career-high 147 yards and three touchdowns.

Senior T.J. Hyland (Fort Collins, CO), starting because of an injury at quarterback, completed 20 of 28 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown.


Men's Golf

Last Week: Oct. 7-8 -- 1st at Toski Invitational (586); Oct. 13-14 -- 4th at Yale Invitational (603)

This Week: Oct. 21-22 at The Tillinghast (Scarsdale, NY)

Senior Chris Eckerle (Indianapolis, IN) won the Toski Invitational. He shot a two-round score of 143, including a 69 in the final round. Eckerle also finished in a tie for sixth at the Yale Invitational with a 148.

Men's Soccer (5-2-2, 1-1-1 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 10 -- Fairfield 2, Yale 1

This Week: Oct. 20 at Pennsylvania, 2:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs suffered their first loss this season to a nationally ranked opponent when they fell to 13th-ranked Fairfield. Yale had been 3-0 against ranked opponents with victories over Rhode Island, UAB and Cornell.

Freshman Jon Skalecki (Wauwatosa, WI) notched his first career point, assisting on the goal by senior Brian Lavin (Guilford, CT).


Women's Soccer (3-5-1, 0-2-1 Ivy)

This Week: Oct. 17 at Stony Brook, 3:30 p.m.

Sophomore Margaret Purcell (Lake Forest, IL) won all three of her singles matches at the ECAC Championships.


Volleyball (6-7, 0-4 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 12 -- Harvard 3, Yale 2; Oct. 13 -- Dartmouth 3, Yale 1

This Week: Oct. 19 at Pennsylvania, 7 p.m.; Oct. 20 at Princeton, 4 p.m.

Sophomore Alison Lungstrum (Lawrence, KS) had a quadruple double against Harvard. She had 12 kills, 56 assists, 14 digs and 10 block assists.
