Members of the men's lacrosse team have been preparing for their season next spring by holding practice sessions on Yale's new Johnson Field, a 750-seat synthetic turf complex that sits adjacent to the William O. DeWitt Jr. '63 Family Field, the home of Yale Softball.

The Bulldogs will be trying to defend their Heptagonal Championship at Van Cortlandt Park.


Field Hockey (6-7, 0-4 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 20 -- Pennsylvania 2, Yale 1

This Week: Oct. 24 at Columbia, 7 p.m.; Oct. 27 vs. Boston University (at Babson), 2 p.m.

Senior Caroline Thompson (Richmond, VA) scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season against Pennsylvania.


Football (3-2, 1-2 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 20 -- Pennsylvania 21, Yale 3

This Week: Oct. 27 at Columbia, noon

Yale's defense recorded a season-high seven sacks. Sophomore Tate Rich (Nashville, TN) led the way with two sacks.

Next: Nov. 5-6 at Pine Needles Championship

Senior Sarah Seo (Lima, OH) was Yale's medalist at the ECAC Championships. She shot a two-round score of 156. Senior Jenny Schriefer (Ft. Wayne, IN) tied for 11th with a 161.


Men's Soccer (5-3-2, 1-2-1 Ivy)

Last Week: Oct. 20 -- Pennsylvania 2, Yale 1

This Week: Oct. 24 vs. UConn, 7 p.m., Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium; Oct. 27 at Columbia, 11 a.m.

Sophomore Allen Cerasani (Gansevoort, NY) scored his first goal of the season and the second of his career against Penn.

Nine of Yale's 15 goals have been scored by freshmen and sophomores. Freshman Andrew Dealy (Pittsburgh, PA) leads the team in scoring with nine points (4 goals, 1 assist).


Women's Soccer (4-6-1, 0-3-1 Ivy)

This Week: Oct. 22 vs. Notre Dame, 7 p.m., Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium

Sophomore Lee Anne Jasper (San Marino, CA) scored the game-winning goal with 3:35 left in the second half in the Bulldogs' victory over Stony Brook. She also assisted on Yale's second goal.

Junior Ali Cobbett (Wallingford, CT) scored twice in the victory over Stony Brook. She now leads the team in scoring with 19 points (9 goals, 1 assist).

Sophomore Dana Loberg (Los Angeles, CA) recorded a double-double against Pennsylvania. She had 13 kills and 15 digs.


Other Sports

Yale captured the lightweight 8 race at the Head of the Charles for the second straight year. In the heavyweight 8 race, the Bulldogs placed 13th, and in the women's 8, Yale was fifth.
