Yale affiliates invited to serve as Thanksgiving hosts
As some members of the University community sit down at the table this Thanksgiving, they will be sharing their feast with students or scholars from abroad.
For the first time this year, the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) is helping match generous hosts with Yale students and scholars eager to take part in the Thanksgiving traditions of their "home away from home."
"There are more than 2,500 international students and scholars that currently call Yale and New Haven their home," says OISS director Ann Kuhlman. "As the campus empties out for the Thanksgiving break, those who remain can feel a bit lonely. In addition, many from abroad would welcome the opportunity to experience firsthand a traditional Thanksgiving dinner."
The OISS encourages members of the Yale community to "take advantage of this unique opportunity to get to know an international student or scholar at Yale."
