As part of the fund-raising events held in ,conjunction with the School of Medicine's annual Hunger and Homelessness Auction, first- and second-year students faced off outside Edward S. Harkness Memorial Hall on Nov. 15 for the Gerard Burrow Flag Football Game, named in honor of the school's former dean. Faculty and students provided colorful commentary for the fiercely-fought contest.
As part of the day's festivities, students raised money by sponsoring football-tossing contests and challenging each other to eat cream pies (or, alternatively, take one in the face) or to dress in less-than-standard attire. The proceeds from these activities -- and from the auction itself -- will go to New Haven organizations that serve homeless individuals.
