The Peabody Museum of Natural History once again offered free admission to all during its two-day tribute to King's legacy of social and environmental justice, Jan. 19 and 20. Among the groups that performed was Young Jazee Vibes, featuring (from left): Veronica Lowe, age 15; Douglas Lowe, age 12; and Paul Lowe Jr., age 17.

Salute to King

Many Yale groups paid tribute to civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr. in the week between his birthday and the national holiday in his honor.

Below: Paul Robeson Jr., author of "The Undiscovered Paul Robeson: An Artist's Journey, 1898-1939," discussed his father's work as an actor and activist at a master's tea at Calhoun College on Feb. 15. That evening, Robeson -- whose visit was co-sponsored by the Film Studies Program and the Afro-American Cultural Center -- spoke at the Whitney Humanities Center's screening of two newly restored films featuring his father: "The Emperor Jones" and "My Song Goes Forth."
