Yale projects featured in AIA exhibit

Several Yale-affiliated projects are now on view as part of an exhibition sponsored by the Connecticut chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

The exhibit, which features 26 projects that received awards from Connecticut AIA, is on view through Friday, March 28, at New Haven City Hall, 165 Church St.

The Branford and Saybrook College renovations were honored in the "Preservation" category; the architectural firm cited for its work on the residential colleges is Perry Dean Rogers and Partners. The residential college projects were part of Yale's extensive renovation of its undergraduate facilities.

Michael Haverland, a faculty member at the School of Architecture, was also honored for his work on the addition to New Haven's Timothy Dwight Elementary School in the "Architecture in the Community" category. Students from the School of Architecture also helped in the design of the school addition, which was funded in part with a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development secured by Yale and residents of the Dwight neighborhood.
