Collegium Musicum

The Yale Collegium Musicum, a chorus comprised of students, staff and faculty from throughout the University, will include four concerts featuring medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary music in its second season.

On Oct. 1, new works by ten Yale composers will be premiered in a program titled "Mina, Maxine, Marianne ... and more." The texts of these compositions are by women whose papers are held in the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library. Other programs in the series will be "Influencing Handel" on Dec. 8; "Winter Words" on Feb. 11; and "Ferdinand III's Vienna" on April 28. All concerts will be held at the Beinecke Library.

Those interested in singing for the chorus should attend the Sept. 3 rehearsal, 6-7:30 p.m. in Rm. 209 of William L. Harkness Hall, 100 Wall St. For more information, send e-mail to richard.lalli@yale.edu.

International Singers

The Yale International Singers, a choir of graduate students and other members of the University community, is looking for new members.

Choir members have a wide range of musical backgrounds, including individuals with little singing experience. Rehearsals are held every Thursday, starting Sept. 11. For more information, visit the website at www.yale.edu/intlsingers. To apply for membership, send e-mail to the choir's conductor at sebas_zubieta@hotmail.com.

Baroque orchestra auditions

The Yale Collegium Players will hold auditions 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The new ensemble will use baroque bows and period style, and will be open to all students and faculty of the University community. String, wind and continuo players may sign up for auditions in the lobby of the School of Music at 143 Elm St.

The ensemble will present two concerts with the Collegium Musicum at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library during the school year. For more information, send e-mail to richard.lalli@yale.edu.

Choral auditions

Three University choral groups will hold auditions Sept. 2-6 at the Institute of Sacred Music or the School of Music.

The Yale Camerata is open to all singers at the University and from the Greater New Haven area. Audition requirements include good sight-reading ability and solo performance.

The Yale Repertory Chorus and Yale Recital Chorus are open to all University students. Both ensembles may be taken for credit or for pay. Audition requirements include good sight-reading ability and solo performance.

The Yale Schola Cantorum is open to all University students. All members will be given a stipend of $25 per hour. Audition requirements include good sight-reading ability and a short solo song or aria.
