Memorial Services

Dr. Franklin Robinson

There will be a memorial tribute to Dr. Franklin Robinson, clinical professor of neurosurgery at the School of Medicine, on Friday, Nov. 14.

The service will take place at 4 p.m. in the Historical Library of the Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library, Sterling Hall of Medicine, 333 Cedar St.

Dr. Robinson, who died on Aug. 30, served for over four decades as chief of the Section of Neurological Surgery at St. Raphael's Hospital. He was also an attending neurosurgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a consultant at both Griffin Hospital in Derby and the Veteran's Memorial Hospital Medical Center in Meriden.


Bruce Stowe

The late Bruce Stowe, professor emeritus of botany, biology and forestry, will be honored at a ceremony to be held on Friday, Nov. 21, at 3:30 p.m. in Dwight Chapel, 67 High St.

In addition to family members, speakers at the service will include Yale faculty members Mary Helen Goldsmith and Arthur Galston, his former Harvard classmate Charles Rosenthal and James Perley, former dean of Millikin University's College of Arts and Sciences. The service will also include an audio-visual presentation about Professor Stowe's life and work. A reception will follow at Saybrook College, 242 Elm St.
