Remembrance service
The Chaplain's Office will present a service of remembrance in Battell Chapel, Elm and College streets, on Wednesday, Dec. 10, noon-1 p.m.
The service, titled "A Service of Music, Silence and Light," will provide an opportunity for all members of the community to mark death and loss as needed. Individuals may come for part or all of the hour.

The Office of New Haven and State Affairs is sponsoring its annual "Holiday Toys for Kids" drive.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys suitable for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 13 will be collected at various campus sites through Tuesday, Dec. 16. The toys will be distributed at the New Haven Boys and Girls Club annual holiday party.
The collection sites for the drive are: Office of New Haven and State Affairs, second floor, 433 Temple St.; Berkeley Divinity School, Rm. S109, 409 Prospect St.; Sheffield-Sterling-Strathcona Hall, first floor, corner of Grove and Prospect streets; Woodbridge Hall, lower level, 105 Wall St.; Sterling Hall of Medicine, rotunda area, 333 Cedar St.; School of Nursing, student lounge, locker room and receptionist area, 100 Church St. South; University Health Services, first floor and basement, 17 Hillhouse Ave.; Payne Whitney Gymnasium, lobby, 70 Tower Pkwy.; RIS, basement, 155 Whitney Ave.; Yale College, Rm. 309, 55 Whitney Ave.; Whitney Grove Square, lobby, 2 Whitney Ave.; and YCIAS, Luce Hall, 34 Hillhouse Ave.

The student chapter of the Society of American Foresters at the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies will host its annual Christmas tree sale on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12 and 13.
White and blue spruce will be available at $6 per foot. White pine boughs and mountain laurel greenery will be sold for $5 per bundle.
Trees may be pre-ordered by calling (203) 432-8800 by Wednesday, Dec. 10. Trees will be available for sale and pick-up at Marsh Hall Lawn, 360 Prospect St., on Friday, Dec. 12, 5-8 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 13, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Yale University Women's Organization (YUWO) will hold its annual holiday party on Sunday, Dec. 21, 4:30-7 p.m., in Luce Hall, 34 Hillhouse Ave.
The event will feature food and punch with a Victorian theme, as well as a raffle for cakes and sherries. Kandie Carle will deliver a presentation on clothing, customs and culture of the Victorian era.
The party is open to YUWO members and their guests. The cost is $10 per person, $5 of which will go to the scholarship fund. For more information, call (203) 248-4337.
The Yale Center for International and Area Studies (YCIAS) has announced the availability of numerous fellowships for summer and academic year travel and research abroad.
YCIAS is the University's principal agency for coordinating teaching and research on international affairs and on foreign societies and cultures. Fellowships are available for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Application deadlines for fellowships may vary from year to year but most spring deadlines occur in February.

Unite For Sight, a national nonprofit organization, is holding its ongoing "Donate Your Eyes" eyeglass drive. Members of the University and Connecticut communities are encouraged to donate used prescription eyeglasses or non-prescription UV-protected sunglasses, which will be sent to the Muhimbili Hospital in Tanzania. Collection bins are located in Sterling Memorial Library, 120 High St., and the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library, 333 Cedar St.
Unite For Sight works nationally and internationally to prevent blindness through free community vision screenings, public education about eye disease and the importance of regular eye exams to prevent blindness, a speaker series and an eyeglass drive.
