The Department of Psychiatry will sponsor a playreading of "History Lessons," a new play by Gretchen Law, at the Graduate Club, 155 Elm St., at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7. The play is about an Afro-Trinidadian man, two Yale students and their East Indian landlords. It will be directed by Herman Leverne Jones and feature Robert Turner. Donations will be accepted. The Institute of Sacred Music and the School of Music will present student organ recitals by Mina Choi on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 5 p.m. at Center Church on the Green and Kristin Naragon on Monday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m. at United Church on the Green.
Alan Garen, professor of molecular biophysics and biochemistry, received an honorary professorship from Fudan University on Jan. 14. Garen was invited to lecture at the university, as well as at the Shanghai Oncology Society meeting and at the Institute of Medicinal Biotechnology of Peking University Medical College. His topic was "Targeting the Pathological Neovasculature for Immunotherapy of Cancer and Macular Degeneration."
