Yale Rep announces event change
The Yale Repertory Theatre has announced a change in its Special Events series: Al is out, but Matt and Ben are in.
Comedian and commentator Al Franken has cancelled his scheduled performance on Saturday, March 27, due to obligations surrounding a new talk show.
However, the Yale Rep has added the acclaimed play "Matt & Ben" to the Special Events schedule. The show -- written and performed by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers, and directed by David Warren -- will play on Wednesday, April 21, at 8 p.m. at the University Theatre, 222 York St.
Loosely based on the real-life collaboration of actors and screenwriters Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the play explores such themes as the price of fame, the conflicts between friendship and business, and the nature of collaboration.
Tickets for "Matt & Ben" are available by phone at (203) 432-1234; in person at the Yale Rep box office at 1120 Chapel St.; and online at www.yalerep.org. Tickets are $30 for the general public and $15 for students.
Previously purchased tickets for "An Evening with Al Franken" can be exchanged for another performance in the 2004 Special Events series or refunded. Contact the Yale Rep box office.
