Yale and Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea have entered into a new partnership to create the SNU at Yale Summer Program.
The agreement, signed by Yale President Richard C. Levin and SNU President Un-Chan Chung, will bring 20 students from SNU to attend Yale's Summer Programs starting this June.
For summer 2004, the SNU students will enroll in Yale's English Language Institute (ELI) six-week summer program. It is hoped that in future years the program will be expanded, and SNU students will enroll in other summer courses.
This is the first time that Yale and the ELI will bring foreign students in a cohesive group to the University, and ELI is hoping to establish similar agreements with other well-known institutions around the world.
