The Women Faculty in Sciences were welcomed to campus and a new academic year with a gathering hosted by Provost Susan Hockfield, Yale College Dean Richard H. Brodhead and Graduate School Dean Peter Salovey on Oct. 14 at the Provost's House.
The evening gave new and current faculty an opportunity to connect informally and enjoy light refreshments with department chairs, deans and directors of the offices of Public Affairs and Development.
"I was pleased and impressed to meet so many interesting scientists working on such provocative problems. That they are also women should be an inspiration for our graduate and undergraduate students," commented Salovey.
