YUWO lecture
The Yale University Women's Organization (YUWO) will sponsor the final lecture in the series "U.S. Security in the Age of Terrorism" on Wednesday, Nov. 17.
Charles Hill, lecturer in international affairs and distinguished fellow in international security studies, will deliver the lecture, titled "The Media." It will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Rm. 119 of the Hall of Graduate Studies, 320 York St. The fee for the series is $25. The series is open only to members of YUWO and their guests. The Yale University Women's Organization (YUWO) is offering scholarship awards to women whose formal education has been interrupted or delayed and who wish to resume their studies, or enhance or change their careers.
Members of the Yale community and their family members are eligible for the awards. YUWO members and family are not eligible. Present staff members and wives of staff members will be given first consideration. Applicants are judged upon merit and need.
Applications for the 2005-2006 academic year may be obtained by writing to Michaela Hauser-Wagner, 35 Hidden Place, Cheshire, CT 06410. Applicants should state their Yale affiliation and enclose a self-addressed, stamped business-sized envelope. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 1. The Phyllis Bodel Childcare Center at Yale School of Medicine Inc. will host its annual book fair to raise funds for the center.
The event will take place Monday-Friday, Nov. 15-19, in the rotunda of the Sterling Hall of Medicine, 333 Cedar St. The fair will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and will feature children's books, current bestsellers, cookbooks and self-help books. For more information, call (203) 785-3829.
The Child Conduct Clinic is currently accepting children between the ages of 2 and 13-1/2 who are displaying behavioral problems such as lying, disobeying parents, swearing, cheating, fighting, not getting along with others or getting into trouble at school.
