Linda Degutis, associate professor of surgery (emergency medicine), associate clinical professor at the School of Nursing and associate professor of epidemiology and public health, was recently elected chair of the executive board of the American Public Health Association (APHA).
APHA is the primary association for public health professionals and practitioners. It has over 35,000 members from many disciplines. The chair position will lead to involvement in many national-level activities, including health policy initiatives in Congress and work with other professional organizations.
