'Books Sandwiched In'
Bruce Shapiro, lecturer in Yale College, will discuss "The Creation of the Media: Political Origins of Modern Communications" by Paul Starr at a "Books Sandwiched In" discussion on Thursday, Oct. 21.
Sponsored by the New Haven Free Public Library, the talk will take place noon-1 p.m. in the community program room at the library, located at 133 Elm St. Audience members may bring lunch.
Blumberg talk on bipolar disorder
Hilary Blumberg, associate professor of psychiatry at the School of Medicine, presented a talk, titled "The Brain in Bipolar Disorder," to the Congressional Biomedical Research Caucus in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 15. The caucus provides a forum where Congressional members and staff can interact directly with the researchers who have led the field in important scientific discoveries.
