Students, faculty and alumni gathered on Oct. 27 to dedicate a newly renovated Davenport College

The 72-year-old facility underwent a year-long renovation under the University's ongoing program to update its residential colleges. Highlights of the project include expanded student housing, a new 72-seat auditorium, annexation of 254 York St. as the dean's apartment, and renovation of the lower court in honor of Yale history professor John Lewis Gaddis, who recently received a National Humanities Medal (see story).

Pictured at the ribbon-cutting ceremony are (front row, from left) Davenport Master Richard Schottenfeld, Associate Master Tanina Rostain, President Richard C. Levin, Jane Levin and Aaron Zelinsky '06, president of the Davenport College Council; (back row) Davenport alumni Steven J. Kumble '54, James S. Chanos '80, Stephen and Ruth Hendel '73, and Sharon and Douglas M. Karp '76.
