Silent auction

The Phyllis Bodel Childcare Center at the School of Medicine will hold its annual silent auction on Thursday, April 6, to raise scholarship funds.

The auction will take place 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Harkness Lounge at 367 Cedar St. Items in the auction will include tickets to sporting events, flying lessons, theater tickets, and memberships to museums, zoos and gyms. Winners need not be present. Credit cards will not be accepted.

Psychiatrist to lecture on depression

The Yale-New Haven Hospital Auxiliary and the Yale University Women's Organization will host a lecture, titled "Recent Advances in Our Understanding and Treatment of Depression," on Thursday, April 6, 6-8 p.m. in the hospital's East Pavilion cafeteria.

The speaker will be Dr. Gerard Sanacora, attending psychiatrist at the hospital, assistant professor at the School of Medicine and director of the Yale Depression Research Program. Sanacora will talk about the neurobiology of depression and the treatments for depression.

The talk is free and open to the public. A light supper will be provided. To register, call (203) 688-2000.
