Museum trip

The Yale Center for British Art will host a members' trip to the Guggenheim Museum and the Jewish Museum on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The trip will take place from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call (203) 432-9658.


YUWO events

The Yale University Women's Organization (YUWO) will host two lecture series this fall.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at noon, Lea Brilmayer, the Howard M. Holtzmann Professor of International Law, will speak on "Litigating the Laws of War" as part of YUWO's "Lunch and Learn" series. The talk will take place in Rm. 122 of the Law School, 127 Wall St. Attendees may bring a bag lunch; coffee and dessert will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. On Wednesday, Oct. 19, YUWO will offer the Þrst in a series of Þve lectures titled "Issues at the Forefront of Biology." Thomas Pollard, the Eugene Higgins Professor of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, and chair of the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, will speak on "The Evolution of Life on Earth." The talk will take place at 10:30 a.m. in Rm. 119, Hall of Graduate Studies, 320 York St.

Yale Rep auditions

The Yale Repertory Theatre announced two sets of auditions for its 2005-06 season.

General auditions will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 25, and Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Individuals should prepare a classical audition piece not to exceed five minutes in length. For more information and to schedule an appointment, call (203) 432-8823.

Child auditions for "Brundibár" and "Comedy on the Bridge," two one-act family operas sung in English, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19, and Sunday, Nov. 20. The auditions will be open to boy and girl sopranos between the ages of nine and 13. Individuals should prepare 16 bars of a song and bring sheet music if available. Comfortable clothing should be worn as there will be a movement component to the audition. For more information and to schedule an appointment, call (203) 432-2174.


"Mother's Room"

The School of Medicine announced the creation of two “Mother’s Rooms” to provide a tranquil environment for nursing mothers.

One room is located at the Sterling Hall of Medicine, C-Wing, E Level, Rm. L0007, behind the mailroom. It is set-up to accommodate two mothers at a time. The room is equipped with comfortable furniture, running water, a microwave and up-dated material concerning nursing mothers.

The second room is located in TAC North (The Anylan Center) room 212 and accommodates two mothers also.

Members of the medical community or guests visiting who wish to use the room should contact the Facilities operations center at bso.customerservice@yale.edu to book a reservation and get the password which will provide you with entrance to these rooms. You will receive a confirmation of your request. If you have other questions, contact one of the customer service specialists at 203-785-4620 if needed.
