Book fair

The Phyllis Bodel Childcare Center at Yale School of Medicine Inc. will host its annual book fair to raise scholarship funds.

The event will take place Monday-Friday, Nov. 13-17, in the rotunda of the Sterling Hall of Medicine, 333 Cedar St. The fair will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and will feature children's books, current bestsellers, cookbooks and self-help books at discounted prices. Childcare center tours

The Phyllis Bodel Childcare Center at Yale School of Medicine Inc. is offering kindergarten tours for the 2007-2008 school year.

The kindergarten program is a nationally accredited, 12-month program that follows the School of Medicine calendar. Center hours are 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with before- and after-school care included. The program has two certified teachers with a group size of 10 children. Scholarships are available.

Theatrical reading

The Whitney Humanities Center, 53 Wall St., will host a theatrical reading of selections from Thucydides' "History of the Peloponnesian War" on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m.

Graduates of the School of Drama, including Remy Auberjouois and John Rothman, will dramatize scenes from the renowned historical work. Donald Kagan, Sterling Professor of Classics and History, will provide commentary. The event is free and open to the public.
