There will be a gathering on Saturday, Jan. 20, to celebrate the life of Ellen Hudson Graham, a long-time editor at Yale University Press who died in November.
The event will be held at 2 p.m. in the Whitney Center, 200 Leeder Hill Rd., Hamden.
Graham retired from the Yale Press in 1991 after a decades-long career editing and acquiring many distinguished books in literature, literary criticism, foreign language and anthropology. Her list included books by scholars around the world as well as works by Yale faculty -- among them, C. Vann Woodward (whose "Mary Chestnut's Civil War" won the Pulitzer Prize), Harold Bloom, John Hollander, Pierre Capretz and many others.
