Yale Cancer Center announces new
medical director for medical oncology

Dr. Arthur Levy has been appointed as medical director for medical oncology at the Yale Cancer Center.

In this post, Levy will be responsible for the clinical activities in the center's medical oncology practice.

"Art Levy brings a special blend of uncompromising clinical expertise, organizational skills, teaching prowess and contagious enthusiasm to the Cancer Center," said Dr. Richard L. Edelson, director of the Yale Cancer Center. "He is enormously respected by the medical community throughout the state, and beyond, as a paragon oncologist. He will contribute immensely to our capacity to deliver outstanding care to cancer patients and to train the clinical leaders of tomorrow."

In addition to his administrative and leadership roles at the center, Levy will be actively involved in the training and education of medical students, housestaff and fellows. He will continue to care for cancer patients with a wide range of diseases, including lymphoma and other hematologic malignancies, as well as solid tumors.

Levy practiced medical oncology in private practice for the last 30 years as a partner at Medical Oncology & Hematology P.C., in New Haven before joining Yale Cancer Center. He also has served as an attending physician at Yale-New Haven Hospital since 1973 and at The Hospital of St. Raphael since 1974.

He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia College and his Doctor of Medicine degree from The Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1966. Levy completed his residency at Yale-New Haven Medical Center/West Haven VA Hospital. He is the author or co-author of numerous articles, book chapters and reviews, including several on hematological malignancies.
