Football player earns NCAA postgraduate scholarship

Alan Kimball, who recently finished his senior season on the Yale football team, has been awarded a 2007-2008 NCAA postgraduate scholarship.

Fifty-eight NCAA student-athletes have been awarded educational grants through its postgraduate scholarship program. The winners receive one-time, non-renewable grants of $7,500.

Kimball was the only Ivy Leaguer picked among 11 football players. He was Academic All-Ivy and a semifinalist for the Draddy Award, the nation’s top football scholar, while winning the Chester LaRoche and Ledyard Mitchell awards at the 2007 Yale team banquet. He also earned District I ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors while carrying a 3.97 GPA in history.
